Okay, the name may be a little confusing. "Elemental Degree"? What the heck does that mean?

THE EXPLANATIONS

--> Some people are Elementalists. This means they have the power to control one of the four common elements: Fire, earth, water or air. To be an elementalist, you must have had an elementalist somewhere in your family line.

--> There are three degrees within each element.
-'First Degrees' have the power to create and manipulate their element. They will be able to create larger amounts of their element as they get stronger throughout school.
-'Second Degrees' do not have the power to create their element, but if there is a source nearby [such as a river for water elementalists] they can manipulate it.
-'Third Degrees' do not have the power to create or manipulate their element. They simply have a strong affinity for it, feel at home when in contact with it, and can find the location of a source easily.

--> People cannot move up degrees as they become stronger. Your degree is determined mainly by the degrees of your parents, therefore you will always be whatever degree you were born as. This also means that if only one parent had elemental power, you are unlikely to be a first degree.

--> Ludus Elementum is a school in Cornwall, England, for teenage elementalists. 14-15 is the average age for an elementalist to discover their element. People with stronger elemental bloodlines are more likely to discover theirs earlier.

--> There are six houses in the school, one for each element. You will need to learn the Latin name for your house:
Fire = Ignis
Earth = Terra
Water = Aqua
Air = Aeris

--> Ludus Elementum is for students aged 15-20. It is a five-year course. It trains students to weild their elements safely and with control. Over the course of five years, students will learn a number of commands and techniques of control for their element. They will become stronger and stronger as they progress through school.
