Hitomi slowly entered the Great Hall, how beautiful it looked at the moment. She had cut her hair, the most scariest thing she could have done. But for some reason she thought it will make her look more pretty. All she hoped was that Loki liked it. She brushed her hands through her hair and looked up at the spinning ball. She wore a green prom dress, it wasn't the best but she liked it and plus it was comfortable. A friend had gave it to her, she was thankful too. Hitomi started to wonder if she had found a date to the ball and what he looked like. She knew that Teal would get someone really handsome. She giggled lightly before starting to walk around. She started to play around with the flower that was wrapped around wrist as she walked to an empty wall and leaned against it.
Hitomi looked up at the spinning ball once again, it was silver and it showed shining lights that made this place look even more beautiful. Whoever set this up must have been a pro. She started to daze out, her thoughts seemed to only be locked on when Loki was going to come. She had remembered when they had met in the school grounds, at the woods. She quickly shook the thoughts away, she didn't even know why she was thinking about that. If her brother were here, he would say that she's got it bad. She doesn't care what he brother says, he says alot of things and he lies a lot too; But if her brother was really here, he'd probably ask Loki alot of questions before challenging him to a fight. She was glad that Yang didn't like balls and dances and such. If he did, she wouldn't even be able to talk to Loki.
Hitomi started to look around. Where are you loki? She asked, wondering where her date could be. She looked at the crowd, everyone seemed to be having a good time, the song that was on was pretty fast but not too fast, it was still dance able. But Hitomi didn't want to dance, well, at least not right now that is. She'd just wait for Loki to come, wherever he was.

.Loki Vallent.
Checking his apparel in a window as he strolled to the entrance, Loki breathed in to make sure he was still alive. He always hated these occasions. So formal. It made everyone act vaguely crazy, especially girls, and Loki already had some trouble with them anyways. However confident he appeared there was always a jittering going on inside. Well there had been since arriving at Ludus Elementum. Raising his head Loki wandered into the hall. Its numbers already growing, it made him appreciated how big the school really was. There were a lot of people. Trouble was how would he know if Hitomi was already here? He couldn’t unless he wandered about trying to find her, maybe that would be the best idea he thought as a girl he recognised from one of his classes smiled pointedly in his direction. Swiftly stopping the eye contact he moved further into the crowd shaking his head lightly.
Weaving amongst groups of several students and other dancing couples Loki scanned the heads for Hitomi. He did a double take when he found her. She was looking away from him but he was sure it was her. She looked wonderful. He didn’t have the most talented gift with words when it came to appreciating beauty and such but she did look picturesque. Silently winding his way towards her, aware that she might be annoyed at his lateness Loki smiled. Half the school wasn’t even here yet so she really had no right, nor had they agreed a time to meet and where; probably bad manners on his hand but Loki was able to dismiss all thoughts of such as he saw her turn to scan the crowd. Shrugging through the closing gap between to dancing couples, he hadn’t even paid attention to the music so transfixed on Hitomi. It was okay, not particularly his taste but decent enough for most fo the couples to sway uncomfortably to. The whole situation struck a familiarity to home.
As he came up behind his date, Loki placed a large hand on her right shoulder and spun her into his arms. Already swaying gently to the music he grinned beamingly at her. Enjoying the moment before speaking. “Boo.” Softly the sound departed from his lips, a smile all the while transfixed onto his handsome features. “Sorry I’m late. You look wonderful” Hoping, praying, wishing she’d accept his compliment for it’s awfulness and see the genuine expression in his eyes and the soft creases at the corners.

Hitomi sighed, she had a feeling that he wasn't coming and she would be heart broken if he didn't come. How terrible it was to be standing here alone at the ball. It wasn't the first time this had happened to her. But she knew that she couldn't loose hope, she knew that he was coming. She stood up straight and took another look around, before she could get a full look around someone had grabbed her shoulder, she gasped lightly in surprise. Before she knew it, she was in the arms of some guy, he was tall, but for some reason familiar. She looked up to get a look at this person. Loki! She thought to herself with a soft smile on her face. She blushed lightly but tried to make it not noticeable. "it's ok, I'm just glad your here and thanks" She said, enjoying the moment and leaning into his chest. She swayed with the music with him before snapping out of it and taking a step away from him.
"um, You look nice too" She said looking up at his hair before running her fingers through it. She couldn't help herself. She blinked twice before stopping. "em, sorry.." She said with a light yet fake smile on her face. She looked away from him and blushed a bit more. How stupid of me.. She thought to herself. Letting out a soft sigh to calm herself down. She was just a little excited because this is the first ball she has been to. She didn't go to dances and stuff because she had no one to go to a dance with, but now that she had someone to go to the ball with there was nothing to worry about. Well, except for her totally embarrassing herself.

Yup, he was right. These occasions did make girls act crazy. At first when he’d swept the girl into his arms she possessed a small ‘oh’ of surprise but he was glad when she appeared okay about his action and late coming. Hitomi was petite compared to our Loki’s six foot frame. With her person leaning onto his chest, it was normal. And he appreciated it. There weren’t many normal moments one could grasp in a school for elementalist, mainly because the location itself and all the pupils were not normal at all. Smiling broadly nearly all the while they swayed to the music Loki felt cold air rush in to the gap she then created between them. Looking, a questioning illustration furrowing his brow as Hitomi complemented him back. That’s what she was doing. Thanking her with a court nod, Loki held out his palm to resume dancing.
He’d come dressed semi-formal, like he did to most occasions. No tie, but a black jacket and trousers with posh, in his opinion, shoes. A white shirt encased his torso the collar being unbuttoned. He looked smart, He looked handsome and he felt like it somehow. Though with most of the guys in suits and ties, he did feel underdressed. But if Hitomi was gracious enough to compliment him, then there couldn’t be anything that wrong with his apparel. When she reached and run a hand through his hair, Loki smiled before taking the hand within his own to show he didn’t care. “No worries. I don’t mind,” Smiling as Australian vocals ripped through his calm voice. “And thanks. To be honest I feel underdressed compared to half these guys.” Motioning softly with head to others around them Loki laughed. Maybe tonight wouldn’t be all that bad.

Listening to his Australian accent, for some reason she could feel like she could just melt. But everyone knows that isn't possible, it was just the strange feeling she had every time she heard him talk. She let out a calm yet quiet sigh as she looked up at him. She was glad that he didn't think she was really weird to the point he didn't want to hang out with her. He was different then other guys and thats what Hitomi liked about him. Of course, his accent was one of things she liked about him too. He was probably the first person she has heard with a Australian accent. For some reason, whens he thought of it, she couldn't believe it herself. Guess thats when she really knows she hasn't been around that many people. She shook the thought away and laughed lightly with him. "I think the way your dress is ok. It's good to stand out" She said, nodding with her words.
"Ya get more attention when ya stand out" It was true, but some would think that your a newbie or something. She didn't care what anyone said about her. Hitomi wasn't afraid of being different, she liked the way she was and if some others didn't like it then they could go shove it. Hitomi wasn't mean and she didn't like to fight but she knew that if she had to she will.

Appreciative for the compliments Loki smiled warmly at Hitomi. She was unlike any other girl he’d met. Honest for starters. The majority of girls back home would lie, cheat, steal and who knew even kill to get what they wanted. It was a ruthless world and one that had put him off dating. Of course he had had girlfriends but none to such an extent that he felt anything more than a vague fondness for their apparel and half the time nothing for their personality. It was a cruel cruel situation but one that seemed remedied tonight. With Hitomi graciously within his arms and conversation easy Loki felt lucky and for once felt homelike towards the school. It’s hallowed halls no longer cold and metallic, metaphorically speaking because heating did not function in half the halls half the time.
“Thanks, but I’d never look as radiant as you,” Twirling her frame an instant after speaking Loki hoped he didn’t appear to forward. He was just being happy. He was just being him, the old him, from home before the move. When he was happy, and full of life everyday. It was true she did look radiant and Loki felt incredibly underdressed next to her compared to the guys around him. “I s’pose that’s true. And it’s healthy to stand out now and again. Defy the system right?” Laughter cracking through on the last part of his sentence, Aussie vocals disrupted.Rhetorical questions always confused him when writing them, but he always got the hang of them when speaking. Often wondering if that was a reflection on his intelligence or limited intelligence as it were. Loki was the type of person to put himself down and boost others up. It was a fatal flaw that meant he almost always had a negative view of himself.
Gently placing one of Hitomi’s hands on his shoulder Loki reached into his pocket and pulled out a bracelet. Silver with a green ribbon threaded through the links and lily clipped to the clasp. It wasn’t the traditional type, but Loki had figured that maybe Hitomi wasn’t traditional. Afraid he’d got it wrong, Loki held it out to her, making sure of her approval. “Sorry it’s not more traditional; I just kinda … figured that… “ That went well, Loki hung his head. Sure she wouldn’t like it, yet still his palm open with the silver links gleaming in the faded light.

Hitomi listened to his voice and giggled lightly at his small joke. She felt so comfortable around him. Like she could trust him; when Hito had first came here she was so tense, she didn't know what would happen, standing out from everyone. She felt like she was getting pushed away by everyone else when she was the one pulling herself away from the crowd. Every day was the same thing, waking up, going to her classes then taking a walk towards the woods. She didn't have much to look forward to inside this school. She didn't know anyone and always felt like she wasn't worth anyones time. But that was before, now she had something to look forward too, she had someone she could hope to see during her days in Ludus Elementum. Though she didn't have that many friends, she was glad that she had some and not none. She was glad that Yang wasn't here. Ah gosh! She thought to herself. Why was that thought about yang always creeping up on her.
Hitomi shook the thought away and watched as Loki dug into his pocket. It seemed he was looking for something. He had pulled out a bracelet. She smiled sweetly and looked at the bracelet before grabbing it and trying it on. "It's beautiful.." She said as she looked at it on her wrist. Hitomi was sick and tired of tradition, her father was always talking about being traditional. Though the bracelet wasn't traditional it was still beautiful. It kinda reminded Hito of herself, though she wasn't popular and all boys wasn't head over hills for her, she knew that she was still beautiful and special in her own way. She then looked up at Loki and kept her smile "Thank you..." She said. Then blinking lightly, she was kinda upset that she didn't get him anything. "oh.." She said before taking off a golden ring from her left hand. "Here...this ring has always been too big for me, but I keep it as a good luck charm. You can have it" She said as she handed it to him.

Her giggle sent waves through him. He’d never quite had the knack to make people laugh unless they were Anna. And she laughed at anything and anyone including him so he didn’t like to think that counted. He felt a rush of air escape as she gleefully took the bracelet. She did like it. Her actions spoke more than words ever could to him. He’d learnt here that people lie whether to protect others or for their own purpose but it was something less frequently encountered at home. Home. A quote from the Lion King annoyingly flashed through his head, unknown to him as to why the words blazed in front of his eyes and rung in his ears. Home is where your rump rests. Why the holy hell did that happen was all he managed to think before Hitomi slid the bracelet onto her slim wrists.
So he’d noticed they were slim. She was, compared to him. A great hulking blonde kid from Down under. It was nature that she’d be smaller. But he found it. Well he liked it was all. Not a great one for expressing emotions, Loki knew he lacked the Shakespearean quality. Hopefully she’d overlook that. Or already had for his mumblings sake. Trying meekly to hide his shock as she handed him a large golden ring, he hadn’t expected. He couldn’t accept. But he did, smiling broadly as he took the ring from her hand. His own, lingering maybe a fraction too long, but only for a second before he slid the jewellery onto his right thumb.
“Thank you. But you didn’t have to.” Still smiling Loki placed her hands back to his shoulders, and his round her waist. Swaying them both softly to the music. The song had changed, slowed in tempo but still enough to not be a ‘slow’ number as it were. “I’m… happy that I’m here… with you I mean.” The words choked out of him. His aussie accent ensuring they were heard. His cheeks, though not inclined to flush or taint with a pink twinge, did for the briefest of moments. He shook it off with gentle laughter, whilst looking down to Hitomi. Realising his words were genuine and he was truly happy to be here with her.

Hitomi wrapped her arms loosely around his neck and smiled as she looked up at him, she was kinda short but she wasn't all that small. Maybe he was just extra tall, but she liked him that way. It was all the more reason why she just wanted to tackle him. But of course she knew that she could do that, well at least not at the moment. It would be kind strange if she just tackled him out of no where. She enjoyed the soft music that played in the back and being in his arms. It was everything she imagined her first ball would be. For some reason, Hitomi couldn't imagine this any better and she hoped that she wasn't a bore to him, running out of things to say and all. "I know, but I felt bad that you got me something I didn't get you anything" She replied, she knew that she didn't have to give him the ring but she couldn't help herself.
Hitomi was always known for being generous and caring, it was just her nature to be that way. She wanted to return the favor. Besides, he was a nice guy and she didn't mind being nice back. He was the nicest guy she has met, the only one that would talk to her anyway and plus he was cute too. "I'm happy too.." She said looking into his eyes for a few seconds before blushing and looking away. The people she had grew up with said that she'd never meet a nice guy like Loki, if they were here, she would laugh in their faces evilly of course.
